Frank Schulenburg is the Executive Director of Wiki Education, the non-profit that serves as the bridge between academia and Wikipedia, the world’s largest and most popular encyclopedia. Frank Schulenburg’s work is motivated by the desire to ensure that everybody in the world has free access to accurate and trustworthy information, so people can make their own best choices as informed citizens.
Since the early days of his involvement with Wikipedia, Schulenburg’s work has focused on improving content quality and broadening participation, especially among subject-matter experts. Between 2008 and 2014, he worked for the Wikimedia Foundation, the organization that operates Wikipedia. During this time, Schulenburg spearheaded a number of global initiatives to improve the encyclopedia’s quality and to give people access to the information they want and need.
Schulenburg has been involved with Wikipedia as a volunteer since 2005, both as an author and as a photographer. His encyclopedia articles and photographs have gained widespread acclaim.
